Most tasks that need to be adjudicated by die rolls use pools of d10s. The number of d10s is determined by the relevant attribute score. During character creation, points are assigned to the Temporal and Mental attributes, from which the Derived attributes are determined.

In combat, the size of a character's die pool depends on both an attribute and a proficiency, and may be further modified by other factors (such as encumbrance or fatigue).
